I just did what I consider my very first act of a professional (or an aspiring professional) author - I ordered business cards! These are just the basic contact info ones to give to other authors at Nationals or at other RWA meetings, but I really love them. It took me forever to decide on a design I liked, but I'm really happy with them. Now to make up a blurb for Into The Woods, so that I can order some agent/editor ones! I'm ever hopeful...
And the back:
What are you doing to get prepared for Nationals this year? Did anyone else feel really excited when they ordered their first business card? It's just so permanent - like tangible evidence that we're authors on the way up.
note: The website on the back is, sadly, not up yet, but it will be soon! You can click away, but alas, nothing but empty webspace at the moment.

Hi, Mary! I didn't know you were going to Nationals. Very cool. We'll have to grab drinks or something!
Right now I have WAY to much to do to stress about Nationals--time to panic for that one at the end of July. ;)
I love, love, love these cards! I will be enlisting your help with mine. Getting even more excited about RWA Conference!
Cool! Can't wait to see your Website. :)
Your card is awesome! Good color and style choice. And I'm totally digging your blogs new appearance! Looking forward to seeing your site when it comes up.
Tag!!!
*Alice runs away laughing*
Hey CM! Yeah, I was a late registrant for Nationals - it's my first time, so I'm stressing about everything. We will definitely have to grab drinks or something! Seriously, right now the highlight of Nationals is meeting all the fanlitters - after hearing all the stories from Dallas, I've been dying to go!
Steph, thanks!! I'm glad you approve! Let me know when you need help, I feel way too knowledgeable about the world of author business cards now. ;) Next RWA meeting, we will definitely have something to give people!
Thanks, Jess! Oh, the website will be debuting soon...I've got my poor sixteen year-old brother hard at work on it. When he was so excited about it finally being summer, little did he know he would spend his setting up his older sister's website! Poor thing. ;)
Junia - thanks for the support! I'm having a blue period, can you tell? Lord knows how I'm going to keep from changing this template again though - I'm compulsive about updating the look. However, this template does go with the new website look, so it will be sticking around for awhile hopefully! I'm glad you like it!
Alice - Oh, a meme! Another way to procrastinate! I'm so going to enjoy this...(and next time around, you are getting tagged!)
BEYOND CUTE!!!! I stole your blog address from Steph and have now added you to my daily procrastination methods...
